SUSTEVENABLE

SUSTEVENABLE

Hello, I'm Steven Tiller. I've made it my life's focus to endeavour the empowerment needed for us to nurture nature. To witness a new perspective, owning our individual actions and understanding how they affect everyone and everything. Leading through my Photography, Film Making & Graphic Design. Inevitably evolving to Humanity 2.0, "Huelmanity"?

How I became a Hueligan

I became a Hueligan back in 2018 when I turned vegan. I was recovering from an almost life-ending motorcycle crash. After rebreaking my femur I was focused on making sure that I got all the nutrition I needed, Enter Huel. I believe with your help I healed much faster and stronger! Flow forward to 2020, this life-changing experience led to an epiphany that we only have one definitive reality and that's here and now, this inhale, this exhale, this blink of the eye. We're living, but are we Alive?

I'd always wanted to explore the world, but I knew I didn't want to fly from my newfound appreciation for the planet. Spending most of my life on two wheels it was so obvious, I would cycle the world! When I first attempted this epic feat it was only day one when I was forced to return home, due to the first of many COVID lockdowns to follow. I spent the next couple of years, hundreds if not thousands of hours exquisitely researching the deep depths of the internet to create what I perceived as the best collaboration of sponsors and equipment that were truly in alignment with sustainability principles as currently possible.

I knew I could call on Hueligans for support. Phoebe replied with such passion hooking me up fully Hueliganed to get me moving. I envision a future venture being powered solely by Huel.

Inspiration to Work at Huel

Move forward to 2023 I've just returned from this epic cycle adventure early with a lifetime of stories and wisdom to share. Upon returning and regrounding I went out for a ride, when I looked down to see a white shimmer in the undergrowth; low and behold, it was your Huel RTD packaging discarded. It felt so disappointing witnessing your brand in this way. I assumed all Hueligans are on a mission to help the planet. I rode on another 20 metres and found a second Huel RTD, and lowered my head feeling gutted for you! I picked up the bottles and recycled them. All ideas start with good intentions, so how do we honour these for the forseable?

I knew I had to reach out to bring this to your attention. I connected with Alex, and we discussed many thoughts and insights about sustainability. I learned and related to the sheer complexity it takes for you to navigate this world responsibly, sustainably and regeneratively. Which sparked many ideas I had to potentially help you all the more in the future, that I can play a part in. I share some of these ideas below followed by my portfolio and credentials...

I see my self as a sustainability ambassador at Huel sharing through my creative powers

Huelvolution

Beyond Infinity

Let's crank up community collaboration by challenging Hueligans to run riot collecting their Huel Packaging over the year and on the 1st of July every year meet at their nearest “Huel Hustle” (Have a location in each major city for example). If you arrive powered only by Huel, not fossil fuels (So by foot or bicycle, etc), we’ll give you a bag of Huel on us to take back. This will be an epic social gathering, meeting fellow Hueligans and inspiring other passersby. A day with your Hueligans helping save the planet, what better way to celebrate your birthday?

After the event share how much impact 100% of your packaging being recycled is having on the environment. You say you can’t use 100% recycled materials as there is simply not enough for your demand, perhaps this is the answer. You can send this used packaging back to your suppliers to put back into their system infinitely. Especially as your powder packaging isn't being recycled at all at the moment.

Collaboration with the whole system/other brands so that everyone can return packaging in return for credit which is happening in Germany, Norway and many other European countries right now. TOMRA is one of the leaders in this movement.

Healthy Planet, Healthy People

A shift in priority and balance of your marketing. From human health-focused to when the Earth's healthy, we all are.

People purchasing RTD in a supermarket for instance may not even engage with your marketing strategy/website/socials etc. So it is important that on the bottle you give inspiration and guidance on how to care for the planet. So people who litter will be empowered to stop and change their behaviour.

Be Cool

To communicate the intention of "don't be a dick" in a non-sexist and non-derogatory way. Expressing negativity towards our physiology is contradictory. It's similar to saying "Don't be a Pussy," these statements are belittling and disempowering ideologies. Love all matter present in Hueligans, even ones with "Dicks".

Planet Pioneer

Introduce a mission/sustainability page to share your present actions and future vision for the world!

Free Tree

Plant a tree with every Huel purchased. On your website display a total tree planted count and how much this equates to helping our planet and our health.

Hueligan heros saving the world one meal at a time!

GRAPHIC DESIGN

Half a lifetime's worth of Graphic Design wisdom

Personal:

I naturally flow with people, helping see them through listening to understand where they are. I’m a big advocate for learning via doing, when teaching photography I love witnessing that "aha!" moment sparking a ripple of confidence and inspiration. People leave my company smiling with fresh air and their heads held high.

Spontaneity and flexibility are in my blood, invigorating my adaption to change. If I don’t know something, I will put 100% of my focus into making sure I do. For example, I built our sustainably-minded world-touring bikes from the ground up which resulted in two years of refinement through trying and failing until everything functioned seamlessly.

Problem-solving under high pressure has presented itself many a time, here's one. We had ridden all day, it was cold and windy when one of our essential bike parts failed up in the vast Scottish Highlands. I managed to keep calm and think clearly, quickly organising the logistics needed to get back up and running again in under 48h! That night I soon warmed up with determination scooting the bike 6 miles to camp.

I follow a vegan philosophy and believe we are all equal on this earth. Creativity moves through me in all ways, while playing the drums, writing poetry, and problem-solving. I believe keeping a healthy self reflects on everyone and everything. Through meditation, yoga, and breath work, our mind, body, and soul join. With mindful practices, we can all flow like water. This deeper appreciation for life and to be wholly present for all stemmed from experiencing two almost life-ending motorcycle crashes in my 20s. Below is a video I fully created telling one of these stories to help support the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance that saved my life.

Kind Words:

Andy Fisher - Co-Founder

What can I say about Steven that will do his brilliance justice? He is an exceptional photographer who captures the natural beauty in everything. Our wedding photos were unique - beautiful, modern pieces of art. He also created our wedding video, it was epic. The 3 days were brought to life all over again - the love, the laughter, the music and pure joy of having your favourite people together for such a special occasion. Steven's skill, passion, attention to detail and ability to see opportunities that many of us miss are just some of the many reasons why Steven is such a creative talent... AND he is such a wonderful guy to work with. Our superstar!

The Happy Consultancy Group

Marine Joigneault - Designer, Illustrator & Creative Director

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Steven on several projects over the last five years (including my wedding pictures), and I can easily say he is the most talented photographer I know. He has an amazing eye and his real talent lies in capturing the moment. He is very discreet and everyone forgets about his camera. He is also very creative and can come up with the most amazing ideas and solutions on the spot. His work ethic is absolutely fantastic. He is committed, reliable and passionate. He is also a really thoughtful individual and cares about his customer’s experience throughout the entire project. Steven is a really calm person by nature and he makes every photoshoot an absolute pleasure and a great moment of fun. His work is not only beautiful but also meaningful as he cares about creating something unique and bespoke to his customer and something they will cherish forever.

Lisa Gill - Organisational self-management coach

No one tells a story or captures a moment better than Steven; he is extraordinary. He's also incredibly generous and thoughtful when talking to the client about what they want. I cannot recommend him highly enough if you're looking for someone to photograph, film or edit for a wedding, corporate event, marketing material etc. - he is just amazing.

Leonie Gava - Photographer

Steven has helped me loads over the years. I'm a photographer who is steps behind him but he has been fantastic in teaching me new techniques and generally getting me out and shooting things I usually wouldn't! He has also been a great help, more recently, by helping me make the massive life decision of choosing a new camera body! I simply wouldn't have made the choice without asking him!
